Next Deva Art Show

the house is coming along

So the place is looking awesome... and that's 95.9% because of Tawny... She's been a painting mad woman and I've helped a tiny bit but have been trying to work and it's not been that productive of a later week for me (which will make sense later).



I did get the Garden in and we now have:

2 squash plants (yellow and crook neck yello)
2 Tomatos (rutgars and something else)
2 Eggplants
2 jalopeno plants
1 sweet basil herb
1 lemon basil herb
1 oregano plant
1 tarragon plant

All in all it looks pretty good and I hope that I got big enough starter plants to beat the Edwards on there vegetables.

My Room is still a work in progress and the Garage is FULL of boxes but we've decied to have a garage sale to put the money towards a flat screen pasma/LCD for over the fireplace... that's in the air but I think we can sell some stuff via ebay too.

I no longer have a girlfriend but it ended at a good time in the relationship to prevent any sort of broken heart situation for either of us I think but it's never easy and I hope she's finds happness elseware.. it's funny that's pretty much all I want for the people I'm with... be happy...

Tonight is Off The Air at the Fatcat... so I'll do a little unwinding and then walk my bike home to advoid that DUI that's been looming on my horrizin since I turned ... who am I kidding 16.. hah (no I've never got one but I should have). I love living so close to downtown.. ride my bike to it then walk it home... mostly walk.

work, work, move, work, move, family I.T guy, work... move.. sigh

so you can tell that my life has gotten a little hectic lately...

Good news is I've moved in to a sweet 3 bedroom 2 bath in town in the La Loma area of Modesto. I can walk, bike, stumble home and to entertainment on a whim. Even so moving by myself has been a bit stressful and I've gotten some help from friends and my girlfriend but pretty much tackled it myself (totally my doing too).

weighed 7 pounds and 6 ounces and he is 20 inches long

I'm pretty much off the radar since Cooper sprung out and I really don't mind it much except I've become the family I.T. guy and I fucking hate dealing with internte/PC/windows/network shit... hum I guess I could have wrote how I REALY feel huh... so I have to help get a camera set up so my fam can see Cooper doing his baby thing over the web... sigh

Work is going Well.. doing Batman Confidential #6 right now and have 3 books to work on when I'm done.

I haven't taken any pics with my D200 two weeks and it's killing me... but I have gotten to spend time with Stephanie and it's the only time I've been able to unwind and not have to DO stuff.. just chill

Goodbye Ben

This week I went to a benifit for a guy that died at 33. Ben from what i understand was a great guy that was involved in local radio and entertainment. I can't belive I didn't know him as he seems to have known most of my friends. Last night there was a benefit concert at the Fatcat with a silent accution to help out his wife and surviving children with the sudden loss. I can tell you that there was an amazing outpouring of love and support for his family last night.

It's pretty crazy.. from what I hear he was playing softball and came in after an at bat and fell over... it took about 20 minutes for paramedics to arrive and he was resuscitated but had gone a long time with out oxygen to the brain.

It's scary and makes me wonder if any of us our prepared for lossing someone suddenly either from freak acident or other reason. Not only that but do your friends and family know of your wishes and hwo you would like to be treated after death?

I don't have a Will but I'm going to write a live Journal one... so if I kick the bucket anytime soon please refer the peeps trying to sell my stuff at the garage sale this is what I really want done with it.... of course I'll be dead so what am I going to do about it.

in other news... um I got a Nikon 60mm 2.8 macro yesterday... yeah, I'm addicted but it's frigging awesome and I got a great deal on a trade in so it was cheaper then buying a used Tamrron 90 at the camera center. They had a few 85mm 1.4 too... but I needed the macro for my contraption

Queen Bean Flyer

well it just so happens I needed to do a flyer for Queen Bean... Danny said it was cool so here it is:

too much.. too much, no seattle

so... I'm down to 11 gigs free on my Photo Hard Drive.. and now my new D200 shoots gigs of pics like a R.O.U.S. (Rodents Of Unusual Size) going through a block of california cheeder... well I don't know if that anlogy works but it's funny if you know what I'm talking about. So long story short I decied to go through my old shots and delete the crap. I used to keep every image no matter how shitty or blurry.. hard drive space is cheap right? Hah, well I found some good pics that never mad it to the light of day like the one here but I also started to torture myself by going through a million old GF pics... so I think a new hard drive will cost less then the added therapy at some point.

Well and I'm down anyway... I had to cancel my flight to Seattle that I was going to take TODAY because I'm too sick to go (I hate making decisions like an adult). I'm at home and drinking white tea, painting, photo-editing and drawing... it might be productive but I'm down and I don't need to be any further down.

took this today at Tony's wedding... Great time out in the middle of nowhere (past Jamestown on HWY108).

It's 4:05 am... and it wound't be that late if the fucking time didn't change on me today.. tonight, whatever.

Interesting time, work today... road up wiht Forrest, then was the lighting guy and 3rd photographer in the wedding (fine by me.. no preasure). Then felt a little restless on the way home (got a ride with the Edwards). Did an hour or two at the Queen Bean's... had an interesting conversation about how hair is back in (not back hair but body hair) and actually finished a page of JLACLA#38... waiting for Jeff to get back to town.

So I ended up at my friend Emily's birthday kegger with Jeff Bonia (here's a flyer I wipped up for him using one of my watercolors but the text took longer I think then the painting)...


So now it's 4am-ish... going to the City to do photo's tomorrow with my Massy... can't wait just wish I could sleep, well I suppose when I'm dead...

Expired Soy Milk is bad

I won't tell the details but you think somthing that has a shelf life of a year wouldn't have much on an impact a week after the drink by date.. but BELIVE me it had an affect.

The Upgrade rom my D70 is pretty profound. I feel like when I made the move from my Nikon 5400 to my D70 (from a point and shoot to a real camera)...

Well I feel that way again
